DUCATI DELIVER
Despite unprecedented world wide demand for the 1098, Ducati has more
than met the expectations of their dealers and customers in delivering
planned supply, with well over 500 1098 models delivered so far in the
UK
Since the launch of the 1098 at the end of 2006, a surge of
orders worldwide has put incredible pressure on the Bologna factory.
However despite an order bank that may have overwhelmed many small
factories, Ducati has excelled in producing bikes with a 94% accuracy
versus the supply plan to date.
To cope with the demand, Ducati
UK has managed to secure an increase in excess of 150 units of
production of the 1098 above the original plan for May and June. A
customer wishing to purchase a bike today, should expect delivery no
later than July for both the base model and the ‘S’ version.
The 1098 Tricolore has now sold out - 110 were imported into the country.
1098
customers have included people such as Top Gear presenter Richard
Hammond and Olympic Silver medallist Iwan Thomas as the new Superbike
has captured the imagination of the public and the media alike.
The
success story for Ducati in 2007 looks to continue as the Hypermotard
1100 and 1100S took their bow to the World’s press at the recent launch
in Sardinia.
Initial reaction from the media has been
exceptional and is backed by a confident Ducati dealer network that has
already forward ordered its entire 2007 production allocation.
The
Hypermotard 1100S is expected in showrooms by the end of May with the
‘base’ model due to follow shortly afterwards. With high worldwide
demand expected, dealers are once again advising customers to order
early as they anticipate waiting lists to quickly form as encountered
with the 1098.
The Hypermotard 1100S will be available at the
end of May and will be £8,995 on the road and the standard 1100 will be
£7,750 on the road and will be available early June.
2007 is
proving to be a vintage year for Ducati with the launch of three of the
most eagerly awaited bikes of the year - the 1098, the Hypermotard and
the incredible Desmosedici RR. There is also a reduction in service
costs of up to 50% on all 2007 models bringing reduced running costs
across the range. Lastly, in keeping with our racing heritage, we
continue to perform well in MotoGP, World Superbikes, British
Superbikes and European Superstock.
For Ducati there is never a
better time to celebrate its achievements and heritage and Ducati will
welcome guests from all over the world to World Ducati Week in Misano
for the biggest party of the year.
World Ducati Week takes place
at Misano from the 28th June to the 1st July 2007. Details of the event
