AIRWAVES DUCATI READY FOR SNETTERTON

lavilla_oulton The Championship leaders, Airwaves Ducati, head to Norwich this weekend for round seven of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Gregorio Lavilla and Leon Haslam will be looking to maintain their recent form and continue their dominant presence at the top of the championship standings. The 1.952 mile Snetterton circuit holds the reputation as being one of the fastest tracks visited during the season. Having started life as an airfield the remaining 'runways' result in two of the longest and fastest straights in the UK linked by quick corners, and chicanes.

The team have also been testing at Cadwell Park since the last round, having clocked some of the fastest times ever seen at that circuit both of the Airwaves Ducati riders are confident ahead of this weekend.

"I am looking forward to Snetterton, after our great results recently and with two perfect days testing under our belts we are looking ahead with confidence. I have some good memories of Snetterton having raced there on a 600cc in the past and I came second in one of the races there last year, so I am looking forward to it," said Haslam, "I felt I rode really well at Mallory and I shall be aiming for more podium places at Snetterton and hopefully challenging for a win."

Having been so pleased with his result in the second race at Mallory, defending champion Gregorio Lavilla commented on the speed of the East Anglian circuit saying, "We know it will be fast at Snetterton, there are some long very fast straights so we will have to see how we match up against the four cylinder bikes. I went to Snetterton for the first time last year and won one of the races. It is quite a straightforward track and I enjoyed it there."

"With the speed of the straights we know it is set to be an exciting round but hopefully we can continue our recent form and gain some more championship points and I can maintain my championship lead," concluded Lavilla.
