KIYO AND KARL READY FOR MALLORY PARK ACTION

harris_malloryHonda Racing’s Ryuichi Kiyonari and Karl Harris make their way to Mallory Park this weekend
(3/4 June) for the sixth round of the ever-competitive Bennetts British Superbike
Championship.

The HM Plant Honda Superbike riders are eager to get back on track after the cancellation of
the fifth round at Mondello two weeks ago. In Ireland, Kiyonari demonstrated a blistering
return to form and qualified his Michelin-shod Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade on pole, setting
the fastest-ever two-wheeled lap time at the circuit. The 23-year-old will no doubt be looking
to replicate his qualifying result at the 1.41-mile Leicestershire track.

Harris is also keen to get back to work in the British Superbike Championship. A month ago,
the Sheffield-based rider narrowly missed out on his maiden win after a enthralling race
alongside Gregorio Lavilla and, after the cancellation of round five, he is more determined
than ever to finish ahead of the Spaniard and claim his first BSB victory.

kiyo_malloryFollowing the cancellation of the Irish round at Mondello Park due to torrential rain, the race
organiser, MCRCB-Events, has decided that the cancelled Bennetts British Superbike races
will not be rearranged However, the points at stake in the aborted fifth round will now be
transferred to the final round at Brands Hatch on Sunday 1 October. This means that in each
of the two races at the Kent circuit, double points will be awarded.

There is no planned Superstock action this weekend at Mallory, but HM Plant rider John
McGuinness will be competing in the Isle of Man TT.
Ryuichi Kiyonari: “I am looking forward to racing at Mallory Park. Last year was
disappointing for me here as I crashed out and had to miss the next four races and lose many
valuable Championship points. The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is running very well now
and I am looking forward to winning.”

Karl Harris: “It was disappointing not to race at Mondello so I know now that everyone is
looking forward to getting back out there. I’m confident of a good performance this weekend
and I just want to get on track and get the job done.”

Neil Tuxworth: “I know both Karl and Kiyo are looking forward to racing this weekend. We
tested at the track earlier in the season which proved fruitful for us and I am looking forward
to a strong weekend results wise.”

Qualifying for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship takes place on Saturday 3 June
at 14.50 with race one at 12.30 and race two at 15.15 on Sunday 4 June. The ITV broadcast
window is 14.30 – 16.00 on Sunday 4 June.
