McGuinness fastest in TT practice
 John McGuinness set the fastest time of the week so
far as he led the superbike hopefuls in Tuesday's Isle of Man TT
practice session.
The HM Plant Honda man posted a speed of 125.30mph which put him ahead of Guy Martin, Ian Hutchinson and Ian Lougher.
Jason Griffith topped Tuesday's superstock session on
the island with 123.38 which left him ahead of Guy Martin, McGuinness
and Hutchinson.
Lougher (120.50) led the supersport session ahead of Hutchinson and Martin.
McGuinness, who also topped Saturday's opening practice
session, will be a hot favourite to add to his eight TT wins when
competition begins this weekend.
Adrian Archibald was unable to complete any superbike
laps on Tuesday as his TAS Suzuki broke down on his first circuit and
he was unable to get back to the start.
Earlier in the week, McGuinness expressed concern that
multi-million-pound safety improvements might ruin the challenge for
riders.
He had reserved judgement on alterations at Windy Corner
and Braddan Bridge after his opening practice session was hampered by
blustery conditions on Saturday evening.
Monday's second session had been shortened because of a
serious involving Japan's Jun Maeda and Ireland's Seamus Greene which
left Tuesday's session as the first in favourable and uninterrupted
conditions.
Guinness said: "They've actually done a really nice job at Windy Corner.
"The surface is good and you couldn't ask for better.
"In Saturday evening's first practice session, I think everyone was taking it really steady and having a good look there."
